One of their flavors is a hot pepper ice cream.  For drama, they insist that you sign a waiver before being given a sample.  As you can see, Amy was not impressed with the flavor or the heat, I was not either,

Veggie flatbread with spinach goat cheese and artichokes, and a wonderful balsamic drizzle

This is the second time I've been to this McLoone's, and we're again amazed at how empty the restaurant is. The food is wonderful, the bartenders are wonderful.

We were talking with the bartender tonight, and he showed as their house made pepper infused tequila, pineapple infused rum, limoncello, brandied peaches, and other various aquavit used for specialty cocktails.

We left about 6, but at 7 there was a free beer tasting. Yes I said the beer was going to be free!

Another fine fall outdoor happy hour. Fleming's must be our favorite restaurant. Looking back in the soon to be defunct Evernote Food app,  I've recorded six vistors here. I know there have to be more.

Tonight's tuna tacos had too much shell and over cooked tuna.  The empanadas were okay. The pepper jelly on the calamari was good. The burger was good as always - just seemed skimpy as did the lettuce wedge: not like it used to be.

Reunion at Bridie's

Amy had the second annual (?) Reunion of her elementary school (PS49) at Bridie's in Queens. The group had arranged for a price fix meal with salad and penne ala vodka served family style, a choice of 4 entrees (did anyone have the chicken?), and cheesecake.

Not thrilled with being served ice in my cider or an Irish bar selling cottage pie as Shepherds pie. The skirt steak and the penne were the best.

Lunch at Red Robin after seeing the movie "A Walk in the Woods"

We liked this Red Robin the last time we were here. This time was not as good as we remember.  Not bad, but little things like wet plates, and soggy pretzel bites were not as good as possible.

The meals were better than the movie.

Pretzel Bites.  Not a crispy crust to be found.

Chili-Chili Cheese Burger.  I am glad to see this image, because it shows that there was cheese on it.
