Pre-Valentine's Dinner at Augustinos Kitchen and Bar in Hoboken

The wait list here is crazy!  Weekends are booked a year in advance.  Booking here less than a month in advance, be prepared to accept 5:30 or 9:30 as the open slots.  BUT there is an out:  seating at the bar is not reserved, so you can walk in and take your chances.

Bruschetta to start

This is not THIS year's menu, but it is pretty close to what they offered.
Arugula Salad and Stuffed Artichoke starters:

They divided the salad in the kitchen for us.

Entree of Chicken parm and Sunday Supper:
Chicken Parm

Rigatoni in a red cheese sauce

Meatball, Sausage, and Ribs on the side.

Tartufo for dessert

GFG GREEK FROM GREECE - My Second Opening Day Event Today

Amy sent me a link for a new Greek place next to the W Hotel in Hoboken.  As it is on my way to pick her up I thought I would stop and check it out.

It is big and airy, at 645 pm it was not too crowded.

They have many things, I hope they were not overly ambitious.
Seating area
Frozen yogurt(?) and toppings

And because I love their photo stylist, here are some of their professional photos.  Sometimes Professional Food Photos do not represent what is being served AT ALL; These are perfect representations:Copyright 2017. Dreamfood

Jersey City Krispy Kreme Factory Opens

This morning at 5 am, The first of six New Jersey Krispy Kreme Doughnut Factories opened in Jersey City.

I got there shortly after 6 am.  The staff was all ready for the crowds they expected to show up as the morning worked its way to the opening of the offices in the surrounding buildings.

Superbowl 51!

Tonight is Super Bowl LI  or 51 to those of you who think roman numerals are pretentious and archaic.   It is being held in Houston TX.  Houston is becoming quite the item in our lives.

Amy and I went to see The Mystery of Edwin Drood at the Fredrick Loews Theater on the NYU Campus

After the show, we rushed home just in time to put the finishing touches on our annual Super Bowl Party.  Here is what we had:

These were GREAT.  So great, that the salad part was good for just that:  a salad. Tomorrow, we are having the meatballs with red sauce and pasta with the spinach dip (below)

These too were excellent, and a great way to mix up the prep of sprouts!

Slow Cooker Reuben Dip

This tastes just like a good Reuben.  But it is definitely something best WARM!  Here we had it as a spread on toasted Rye Bread.

Spinach Dip and Onion Soup Dip

Have to have some classics.
