A Mano for Happy Hour

Mussels with red sauce
Meatball as an appetizer
Crab meat and shrimp pasta
Ear pasta with veal sausage
We stop by the North Fork on the way home from Montauk this weekend. We'd love to this restaurant when we were here in the spring and decided to give it another try. We came for happy hour with half price cocktails and wine. It seems our recollection of happy hour food specials was incorrect: Thursday is the day for half price pizza.

While we're here we discovered they're participating with Long Island Restaurant Week. So we ordered our three-course dinners and had happy hour wines at the bar.

We were not disappointed with the fare. And we took the desserts to go as we planned on going to the Magic Fountain for ice cream just down the road.

East by Northeast Happy Hour

Spicy tuna roll and a tempura shrimp roll

We came to Montauk to get away and relax with the passing of Irene  yesterday. It being Thursday Town is very quiet, and we came to our usual happy hour here at East North East. Vodka and sushi, as a quick appetizer before we went home and had some leftovers.

Comfort food at the Brickhouse Diner and Pancake Factory

Southwestern grilled chicken sandwich with fries

Montecristo club sandwich. I used to really like this but right now I'm not sure why.

With just come from the hospital where Irene passed away this afternoon. We've come across the street for some comfort food as we process the loss.

Jersey City Taqueria

A huge portion guacamole, we were able to have it with two more meals after this
Green enchiladas
Salt cured flank steak. I have to find a recipe for this at home.
Irene went to Jersey City Medical Center this afternoon, we hope she'll be alright.

We like this place and I've always done take out so we thought we would try eating in. It turns out it's warm enough that their backyard is open and we were able to eat outside. The lively place with music and lights. And the warm November weather really was lucky.

A stop while shopping : On The Border

Chips and a Bloody Maria
A quick stop while shopping.

Grilled shrimp bowl
The Baja Combo: chicken enchalata and a fried chicken and cheese stuffed avocado
The shrimp was done perfectly. The bowl was a de constructed taco,  so we wanted tortillas. The fried avocado was interesting.
